Do You Remember The Time

Many have come and many have stayed behind

To kiss the nectar from the beautiful flower.

Yet I still remember you dearest old lover

Everytime a bee covers itself with

The pollen grains of our mementos.

Remember the time dear old love when we fell in love

It was such a blissful season of roses that I forgot to see the thorns.

Do you remember the time when we first met

It seemed like our meeting was destined by the dark clouds of trouble.

Remember the time dear old love when you held my hand

I felt so blissful that I gifted my heart to you,

Wrapped up with the arteries that nourished me with fresh blood.

These memories are sweet and they shall remain with me

Till I am bound for the tomb.

Yet old lover you will not forgive me

And the folly in our stars that separated us.

My children put me to sleep with a lullaby for the living,

But without you dearest old lover the night is dark,

And full of monsters for the poet.

I miss your spirit in my bosom dearest old lover

And the time we held each other close with words

Rather than loves embrace.

Our love was pure and radiant like the sunrise

But it ended on an empty note

That till date I have not understood.

We are now two rivers bound towards different ways

Into the sea of death.

We no longer talk when once we could not do

Without our loud and timeless communion.

Now everything has changed dearest lover

I’ve turned poet and you my muse.

Let the doors of our love be opened again

For the jasmine incense to bless it.

Then I shall sit inside the room and like the poet of old

I shall sublimate our love into verses most tender

To temper you my sweet.
