First Time

IMG_0936

The first time when we met & when we held hands,

That was the time when this heart of mine went insane;

It all began with the first time I saw you standing there,

My heart skipped a beat for I knew you were the one.

In your eyes reflected our love story with a shade of red,

Your muscular frame was my support & my ecstasy;

Till date I remember every detail of love with you by my side,

I thought nothing of it when love happened the first time.

Today however you are not with me yet still you are there,

You brighten my day with your old love that ended tragically;

I still reach out for your soft hand even after so many moons,

May God bless you with happiness with every change in the tide.

In my hour of solitude with your memories by my side,

I cry a silent teardrop to caress you a never said goodbye;

How did we really part now does not matter to me,

Venus knows that forever I’ll love you till I die.

It was the first time I loved a man so I did it with all my heart,

You were the serene ocean where my river emptied its dreams;

I recollect the roses of yellow & red that you gifted to me,

I still possess them now in the pages of my old love story.

You left with the winter & left the door opened to the cold,

I reached for your arm but you were there no more;

Yet even now my heart races to the call of your name,

What was love then I knew for the very first time in my life.

You are away from me now & have moved on,

I’m still here waiting for a return I have no right to hope for;

I pray every night for your hug & your shoulder,

I ask the Lord above to let it happen as the first time.

Now rationality comes in & you are with another,

I wonder if you remember me as a lover or a friend;

But those days of blossoming love has not yet withered,

I still want you as much I did when it was the first time.
